Hi There! Welcome to the DFWGames A-kon Information section!

This is the place where you can:

• sign up to be a volunteer and get the latest info.
• submit info for your tourmament, if you are a game leader.   

As an A-kon volunteer, you'll get a free full 3-day pass to A-kon (note:16 hours of work commitment required!) and all the fun as well get a chance to share in the CRASH SPACE rooms allotted to the console staff.

 Here is a small snippet of some of the positions available and its responsibilities:

• Registration - The "first, last, and best line of defense".  You are responsible for making sure that visitors are able to be registered for tournaments or signup to our website. You will also provide updates on the bulletin boards for visitors will be informed.  
• Security - "Those who lay down the law". You are responsible for making sure no one  perfoms "five-finger discounts" of games and/or equipment. You will also help out in crowd control, and in checking badges for entrance in the room.   
• Media -The "paprazzi". You are responsible for gathering media as the event is in progress, as well as posting it on our website in a timely manner.
• Equipment Maintenance - The "movers and shakers". You are responsible for moving, storing, securing, or changing games and equipment.
  
• Floater - The "go-to guy (or gal)".  You are the responsible for performing any reasonable task that may not be listed. If there is a shortage at a position, you can help fill in. If you are not busy, you will go around and take pictures, videos, and such, so we can update the web site.

Now, we already have ways that can make your task as easy as possible. When combined with teamwork, we can make this event a very fun one. Oh, and don't worry, you will have chances to play games too!
