truOnyx signing in

Don't know what I'd do without you guys! Until that fateful day that computer gaming is resurrected, I'll be lending my support to the Console crew. I even messed around and got myself a PS3 last year! So ya better have SCV or else!

Hi everyone!

Unfortunately, I won't be able to volunteer A-Kon this year, since I'll have a table in the Exhibitor's Hall for The D20 Girls Project. I want to help out with more DFWGames events again in the future, though, and I'll be sure to stop by the game room during A-Kon to cheer you all on, maybe play a tournament if I have time. :]

Ok Ladies and Gents!
      Without further ado, here is the volunteer schedule and the "Playbook"

Volunteer Schedule ---> Click Here

The Playbook ----> Click Here

Now, while two documents won't address everything, it should answer quite a bit, as well as give you a clearer picture as to what to expect and that is expected.

If you have questions or concerns, please address them on this forum thread. That way, we can best address the issue. Thanks!

Hey Ryan!
      Let me see if I can answer your questions:
First, on Thursday, I will have all the staff badges, so you will have to see me and sign an A-kon consent form to get it. As for the shirts, that is a work in progress, if they are available, you will get it as the same time.

Second, if you shift starts at 6pm, I suggest you get eat early around 5pm, note will be quite a few resturants one floor below us to choose from, just allocate enough money to pay for your meals that weekend.

Thanks!

yeah bro, do what ed said. Also that food court gets hella busy at lunch and dinner times. So I suggest buying food even earlier than 5 just for the simple fact you wait in line for 20-30 minutes and then you have to wait for them to actually give you the food haha.

I have 2 questions about the non-tourny systems.

1! Will the Soul Calibur V systems have the full character roster opened up?

2! Will they be any SKULLGIRLS running?

If you don't know about Skull Girls, then you need to check it out. It can easily be a fighting game scene staple in the near future.

To answer both of your questions: I will have to check on that.

I do know about Skullgirls, as I have bought the game, and while I do agree that it has really good potential, I just hope that they release the extra characters soon via DLC, 8 is not enough imo.

[Thread Jacking]
Skullgirls really needs more exposure outside the Fighting Game Community and A-Kon is a good op. I'd say plug up one system and have it right next to a system running MvC3 and let people mess around between them. I liked MvC2 a lot more than 3, and Skullgirls just does everything right without creating a "Sentinel" type character or any other unbalanced mechanic. And as far as those hoped for characters as DLC check out this thread from SRK:

Hey guys, hyped about A-kon coming up! I have not been keeping up to date with things since my sister just had surgery and I have been taking care of her as she recovers from it. Looking forward to seeing everyone and having an awesome time as usual!

Also, Ed I was wondering where those pictures we all took with Team Ninja are. Mainly the one on the last day with the full group because I thought that would look awesome but I can not find it anywhere!

The answers to your questions Soul Cal will have all Characters unlocked and skull girls will be availble for casual game play.
