Installment #3 for the Mega Hit MASS EFFECT series drops next Tuesday along with hotly anticipated fighting game X-Over Street Fighter x Tekken.
DFWGames will be there at the Midnight Event with one of our local Gamestop partners for local DFW gamers.

DFWGames @Mini A-Kon V
at the Denton Public Library continues to expand!
Mini A-Kon is of course the minature version of the big A-Kon even in downtown Dallas every year ( early June timeframe ). DFWGames has teamed up the last few years as part of A-Kon Gaming and working with the Denton library to throw the event.
The 1st year we went a few years ago maybe 100 or so attendeded but this year Mini A-Kon was a huge success with over 100% growth with over 1,000 people showing up.
All the vendors and attendees are reporting they had a blast.
Big thanks from DFWGames and A-Kon Gaming (special props to King Doub  ) to all the staff that came out and helped.
This was a great warm up event for A-Kon 23 which is just a few months away

 NVGA Video Gaming Comes To New Orleans Comic Con
New Orleans Comic Con attendees who want to match their video game skills up against the best regional and national players now have their chance, as NVGA, the premier video gaming event, tournament and community development provider, presents four tournaments during the event, set for January 28-29 at Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Serious “Call of Duty: Modern WarFare 3,” “Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3,” “HALO: Reach” and “Super Street Fighter 4: AE 2012” gamers can compete for prizes including a VIBRAS.FIVE.ONE Headset (http://www.track-scan.com/2/usb-51-ch-gaming-headset.html).
The competition is part of the SuperCon 2K Series, the place to be for all gamers to explorer all the aspects of the gaming industry and beyond. In addition to New Orleans Comic Con, the SuperCon 2K Series travels to many locations across the nation, providing a home for gamers to meet other gamers, make new friends, play casual games, learn about the gaming industry, reach out to a variety of genres, including anime and sci-fi, and participate in tournament games to win the title of the most proven player in the nation.
For the casual gamer there are multiple game set-ups, free giveaways, opportunities to meet local or national talent involved in the video game industry or related industries and of course to participate in fun casual games. Gamers also have the ability to participate in a variety of workshop and panels that relate to gaming, anime, sci-fi and more.
At New Orleans Comic Con, the schedule includes a free “Call of Duty: Modern WarFare 3” event on Saturday at 1 p.m., along with the simultaneous “Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3” tournament. On Sunday at 1 p.m., all fans can participate in the free “HALO: Reach” event, which coincides with the “Super Street Fighter 4: AE 2012” tournament.
A one-day pass for the gaming tournament is $10 with online pre-registration, or $15 at the door. A weekend pass costs $20 with online pre-registration, or $25 at the door.
Through its proprietary ranking and tournament software, high-tech forums, cross-chapter connection, as well as expert community and event development, the NVGA (http://nvgaonline.com) has managed some of the most well-organized and designed video game events and communities.
